Peter Bussian is a photographer, filmmaker and media consultant who has focused his work mainly on countries in conflict. In the early 1990s he began photographing refugees in Cambodia and since then he has worked in many countries. Since 2001 he has worked extensively in Afghanistan. In 2007 he made his acting debut by playing one of the lead roles in Golden Globe winning Afghan Director Siddiq Barmak's feature film, Opium War. Bussian grew up in Colorado and received a BA in history and philosophy from the University of Colorado. He studied film at Columbia University and at the Anthropology Film Center in Santa Fe. Peter moved to New York in 1993 and has lived there ever since.
